During the NDTV Good Times Gadget Guru Conclave and Awards 2011 ceremony at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon, the iPad claimed the prestigious title of ‘NDTV Gadget of the Year – Jury’s Choice.’ This recognition is considered the most significant award in the country within the realm of consumer electronics, gadgets, and technology.

Microsoft Kinect received multiple accolades, including the NDTV Gadget of the Year award in the Viewer’s Choice category, the Best Innovation of the Year award, and the Best Gaming Hardware award. The Samsung 3D LED UA46C8000 secured the Best Television award, and the Bose Videowave Entertainment System earned the Consumer Electronics Award of the Year. Sonam Kapoor was honored with the Brand Ambassador of the Year for Spice Mobile, while the Samsung Galaxy S was named the Best Smartphone of the Year.

The awards ceremony aimed to recognize outstanding innovations in technology over the past year, spanning 17 diverse categories. The event drew the participation of key representatives from major technology companies, Bollywood stars, and other notable figures.

Violet 3D clinched the Best Audio Technology of the Year, and the Best Audio Product of the Year was awarded to Monster Dr Dre Beatbox. The Nokia C3 received the Budget Phone of the Year award.

The evening commenced with a conclave and technology fair, providing a platform for companies and experts to exchange ideas, engage in debates, and discuss the latest trends in technology. Over 30 companies actively participated in the event.

The conclave was divided into two parts, beginning with a panel discussion on ‘The Impact of 3G in India’ followed by ‘Is the Era of Wow Technology Over?’ Participants in the discussions included Sudhir Gupta (Advisor at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), quiz master Siddharth Basu, Gurdeep Singh (COO Aircel), and other senior officials.

Vikram Chandra and Rajiv Makhani served as hosts for the evening. Vikram Chandra, CEO of NDTV Limited Networks, highlighted the credibility of the Gadget Guru Awards, emphasizing the rigorous process followed for nominating gadgets by a jury composed of highly respected individuals in the field.

The event also featured a performance of India’s largest Bollywood musical, “Zangoora,” presented by Hussain Kuwajarewala, Gauhar Khan, and Kashmira Irani.
